This month, VoV is proud to present Rhonda Douglas, author of Some Days I Think I Know Things: The Cassandra Poems as well as numerous pieces (poetry and fiction) published in magazines across Canada.
Originally from Grand Banks Nfld, Rhonda lives in Ottawa. She has performed at Tree Reading Series, Ottawa Mayfest’s Words Work show, and VERSeFest’s Poetry for the End of the World show.
Her work has won prizes in The Newfoundland and Labrador Arts and Letters Competition, the Gregory J. Power Poetry Competition, The Malahat Review’s Far Horizons Award for Poetry and Arc’s Diana Brebner Prize.
As always, our feature performance will be preceeded by an all-women open mic, so bring you poetry and stories (5-minute maximum) and feel free to sign up. Cover is $5 at the door, but open mic performers get in free.
New this month: We are now 100% community-funded, so if you can, please be generous at the door.
